Graffiti at the Park
Today was the first day where we got the chance to sleep in. I woke up at 10am, hoping that the weather was going to be nice enough for some tanning by the beach, but it ended up being just overcast. Trying to not let the weather bring us down, JD and I went for a walk on Arequipa down to Arevalo to grab coffee, money and hang out. Right by the church, we saw some people assemble white boards in the shape of a cube and stuck around to find out what was going on. It turns out that there was a street art event going on the whole day and graffiti artists were creating beautiful pieces of art throughout the day. However, the main reason JD and I stuck around was because of this super hot guy. HAHAH. and we went back 4 times too, to scope him out. (sorry CT! )
We visited Barranco today with Romy and it was breathtaking. The view from the mountain was beyond anything I've ever seen before. Barranco is also supposed to have an amazing nightlife, which we will see as the month goes on. At Barranco, we visited a house-turned-museum whose previous owner was a huge art collector hundreds of years ago. Afterwards, we went up the hill and went to a cafe to sit down, buy some souvenirs and enjoy the marvelous view.
