trouble...
Buenos noches amigos,Just another day in Miroflores, hanging out and lounging around. We didn't do too much today, but I'm starting to feel less homesick.
Maria, our in-house cook made an amazing spicy chicken tomato sauce which went along deliciously with some delicious spaghetti! Kind of made me feel like it was home, which gave me a warm feeling. It was delicious and just what I needed to feel better about how homesick I am.
After dinner, we went to get churros with some housemates and JD and I ordered 1 chocolate churro, 1 dulce de leche churro and 6 plain churros to share. It's safe to say that we ate more than we should've! However, it was cheap and delicious and the BEST churros in town! Muy delicioso :)
Delicious churros which was way worth the cramps!, but I'm all churro-ed our for the rest of the week!
RP and I with a stray cat (I think they're clean...)
cutest kitty ever, but RP scared him away with the flash!
After we had our churros, we went to the cat park (YES, there's a cat park in Lima where like 50 cats just chill and hang out. I've probably mentioned this before, but cats roam around Miroflores' main square like they're squirrels). RP, being the crazy cat lady she is, decided to go and pick up a random cat and wanted me to take a picture with her. Here it is ....
After that, RP and some people went down to the beach for a stroll, while myself and some girls went back home to go jogging (but that's another story). When the girls and I JUST left the house to go running, we find S running back to the house in panic mode. Out of concern, the girls and I ran back to see what had happened and discovered that RP had LOST her flipflop while walking by the water. In effort to hail a cab, we were told to NOT hail any cabs, but the yellow ones (which are registered with the municipality). However, they managed to only hail a WHITE cab, which OVERCHARGED them (7 soles!!!).
Next, when we FINALLY went for our run, A took exactly 4 steps and turned around to talk to us, then rolled her ankle and fell! We managed to carry her back to the house, and now she's icing it and resting it for the next couple of days.
The rest of the girls went out for a run afterwards and because of all the churros JD and I had before we left, we got a cramp a few minutes into our run and decided to call our running session short. We went back to the house, went to the roof and did some abs and cardio exercises to complete the workout.
Might sound like a boring day, but it was a pretty fun time. Manana, we are celebrating a housemate's birthday early and we're going to a Salsa dancing club!!! Pictures to come from that later, be prepared for some wicked dance moves.
Hasta Luego, xoxo -m
